Huami is the subsidiary of the tech company Xiaomi. Huami did not rise to fame like Xiaomi did and hence still remains a subsidiary of Xiaomi. Huami is an expert company on wearable technology. Huami has scheduled a launch event on the upcoming 17th of September 2018 in China. Huami has posted an official invitation on the company’s Weibo handle. The invite reads, “Amaze the Life, Fit the Future.” Huami has been very secretive about its products that are to be launched.
Even though the Chinese firm has announced the launch event, they have yet not specified anything about their upcoming products. Everything that can be deciphered or speculated about their upcoming product is by the pictures posted on Weibo. Those pictures which have surfaced on Weibo reveal some key details and features about its upcoming product which is a smartwatch. The upcoming Xiaomi Amazfit IoT smartwatch looks very promising. However, the earlier smart smartwatches by Huami had an ugly-looking design. But the new smartwatch has a sporty look.
The dial of the watch is made of plastic and comes with an orange-colored home button. The company has named its new watch an IoT smartwatch. It will be priced at 1199 Yuan or approximately Rs 12,575/$175. Even though the company has not confirmed anything about the watch’s features, it is expected that the users can control their smart devices using this Amazfit smartwatch. A couple of months back, Xiaomi also launched a fitness tracker that can control devices running on the Mijia platform.
It is also expected that the upcoming Amazfit smartwatch will control only Mijia products. It will also be equipped with Xiao AI or Xiaomi’s voice assistant for the Chinese market. Since it is priced at a really low price, it is unlikely that any company would offer LTE support to make it completely work as a standalone device. Huami’s new smartwatch can also be used to make payments and take public transportation.
