Xiaomi had announced in December 2017 that Mi 7 would arrive at the Mobile Congress in 2018, but smartphone enthusiasts were disappointed as the release was postponed. Instead, the Chinese company reportedly planning to unveil Mi MIX 2S with a 3,350 mAh power cell. However, a screenshot revealed on Playfuldroid discloses that the Mi 7 could be a reality in the near future, packed with a Snapdragon 845 chipset.
Mi 7 is expected to launch with a top of line specs to counter major smartphone rivals such as the iPhone series, Samsung Galaxy S9, HTC u12, LGU 30s, Sony Xperia XZ Pro, and others. According to the screenshot revealed, the new phone is to be paired with an 8 GB RAM configuration and 128 GB internal storage. The display screen will measure 5.65-inches diagonally with 2160 x 1080 pixels which means that the screen will hold an 18:9 aspect ratio in a bezel-less screen. In 2018 Xiaomi has a couple of devices lined up for the global market with the latest features – Mi 7 being one of them to feature dual 16-megapixel cameras on the back.
Since the smartphone is expected to be launched after Mi MIX 2S, it will have features similar to its predecessor – which we assume to sport an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone will use a combination of metal and glass for display. The inclusion of the glass-metal combination in Mi 7 means that the device will probably come with Qi-standard wireless charging, which we saw in the latest iPhone 8 and iPhone X. This time, the Chinese smartphone giant is going boost the battery backup in its upcoming flagship to 4,480mAh – a good reason for the users to cheer who saw Mi 6’s 3,350mAh unit.
The Mi 7 is expected to release sometime in April of this year. The marvelous specifications reveal that it is the most expected Xiaomi phone of 2018 with the price range at around Rs. 29,369.
