The Xiaomi Play is expected to become official on December 24. New rumors indicate that this will be the Chinese version of the Pocophone F1. However, now that a new Xiaomi smartphone has been seen in TENAA, it seems that the device could be a totally different model and not be the same Poco F1 with the same design and name.
As per the leak, the smartphone could be the first in the company’s range to feature Water-Drop like notch setup in the front. And focus on low-light images captured from the device.
The device recently registered in the database of the Chinese regulatory agency with dimensions of 147.76 x 71.89 x 7.8 mm and weighs 150 grams. The smartphone is expected to arrive in multiple color options, such as black, rose gold, gold, white, blue, red, pink, gray, silver and green. It is possible that Xiaomi would not make these color variants available at the same time in the launch event of the smartphone.
As for the specifications, the front of the device would feature a 5.84-inch screen with a small notch at the top and have a FullHD+ resolution of 2,280 x 1,080 pixels, which converts it to an aspect ratio of 19: 9. The device is expected to be equipped with a 2,900 mAh capacity battery.
The new Xiaomi smartphone has appeared under two model names: “M1901F9T” and “M1901F9E”. Both are powered by an octa-core processor of 2.3 GHz max frequency. Although there are only two models described, its likely to arrive in various storage variants of 32 GB + 3 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage + 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage + 6 GB of RAM. With support for microSD card slot for additional storage.
The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo under a possible MIUI layer. Its rear has a dual camera configuration consisting of the two main sensors of 12-megapixels. The water drop notch of the smartphone in the front would house the 8-megapixel selfie camera. The back panel of the phone will feature a fingerprint scanner.
