Two of the most anticipated smartphones of the year, the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro, were scheduled to be available for the customers from 12 noon onwards on March 7. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Flash sale was supposed to take place on Xiaomi’s official store, mi.com, and on flipkart.com. But, most of the customers, who logged in to purchase it, were shown that the stock had already ended, hardly within a few moments. Now the only options are retail outlets, Online buy/ sell portals, and Local Mobile phone shops.
The customers are naturally furious. They are calling it a preplanned scam, blunder & black marketing.
There were reviews like, “I agreed even offline stores charging extra amount for the same too.”
There are complaints like, “They are charging extra on Mi Stores, they are asking for ₹1500 extra for Redmi Note 5 pro.”
Xiaomi also removed the COD option in this sale but still, the sale finished in 2-3 seconds; it was perplexing why might this have happened. Genuine customers are not getting the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro.
There are some astonishing allegations like, “SCAM sound a bit harsh. BUT Xiaomi should taken action against those partner who broken rule. Meanwhile, may be should consider giving one F-code for those Frequent Diamond and above member from India with at least one year membership here!”
Xiaomi was quick to respond. Their official Twitter account issued a statement saying, “We are looking to address these issues so more and more people can get our products through official channels.”
