Redmi products have been showcased at the launch event today at 12 pm hosted in New Delhi, with the Indian head of the company, Manu Kumar Jain, and product manager, Jai Mani, to launch the devices in India. This time, Redmi has not only come up with smartphones like Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro but has also showcased Mi TV 4 at the same event.
It is expected that the products launched will offer a lot of features at affordable prices. It has also streamed a live video on its website Mi.com so that fans all across the country can join the launch event simultaneously.
Redmi Note 5 is the successor of the Redmi Note 4 in India, launched in January 2017. Redmi Note 5 will be a Flipkart exclusive with a price range starting from Rs. 9,999 for the variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and Rs. 11,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option. As per the specifications are concerned, it includes a 12-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture, 1.25-micron pixel size, PDAF, and an LED flash module.
The company has also confirmed its enhanced photo with the HDR algorithm to deliver improved quality from the previous range. The device is to come with a special charger, especially for the Indian Market and a free silicon case with the charger powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro is making a global debut in India. The handset is packed with Snapdragon 636 processor and a dual-camera setup on the back (with 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel sensors). It will come with only one internal storage option of 64GB.
Both models are available in four colors: Black, Lake Blue, Gold, and Rose Gold. As for the Redmi Note, the 5 Pro price in India will be Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB RAM variant and Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB RAM model, which will be available in the online market starting from February 22.
Xiaomi Mi TV 4 was unveiled at the same event, making India the first market to get the company’s TV outside China. In its specification, it will come with a 55-inch 4K display (3840 x 2160 pixel) display and sport a frameless design. It also has 10 speakers, 2 wireless rear satellite speakers, and a subwoofer. Further, it is packed with Dolby Atmos audio technology with 2 up-firing speakers which offer “an immersive 3D sound experience.”
As for its users, the TV will contain content from Hotstar, Voot, Sony Liv, Hungama Play, Zee 5, Alt Balaji, The Viral Fever, etc., and 80 percent of the content will be free to access. The specified model is to come with a ‘transparent’ stand, which makes Mi TV 4 look suspended in the air even without being mounted on the wall.
It is also added with AI (artificial intelligence) based recommendations UI called PatchWall. It will come with a Cortex-A53 quad-core CPU clocked at 1.8GHz and a Mali-T830 image processor.
The novelty is priced at Rs. 39,999; the Mi IR cable is priced at Rs. 299. With three-month subscriptions for Sony Liv and Hungama Play worth Rs. 619 for free will definitely lure its customers, and the Mi IR cable will also be provided free.
This will also be a Flipkart exclusive starting from February 22. Xiaomi has been propelled to the number one position jumping ahead of Samsung, which has been maintaining its position for a quite long time.
