As of today, August 30, China’s Xiaomi Smart Ecosystem account posted a preview poster revealing the Mijia Robot 2 Pro robot vacuum cleaner, which would be available the next day.

The billboard did not reveal the new product’s appearance, but it did mention that it can clean the floor through chemical reactions.

In actuality, the formula in the teaser is a chemical formula. “When chlorine gas and water are energized, hydrochloric acid is produced, and what?”

When there is no electricity, chlorine, and water produce hydrochloric acid and hypochlorous acid (HCLO). Hypochlorous acid is a strong oxidant, a very weak acid (weaker than carbonic acid) with excellent whitening properties; its salts can be employed as whitening and disinfection agents.

Hypochlorous acid is primarily used as a disinfectant, commonly used to disinfect contaminated materials such as surfaces and textiles, as well as water, fruits and vegetables, and food and beverage utensils.

Hypochlorous acid can also be used to disinfect interior air, secondary water supply equipment, hands, skin, and mucous membranes, in addition to the uses listed above.

So all we have to do now is figure out what kind of stuff will be formed once electricity is turned on. Whether it’s hypochlorous acid, oxygen, ozone, or something else.

Regardless of the sort of chemically produced, sterilization and disinfection are likely to be included. This should also be one of Mijia Robot 2 Pro’s primary advantages.

We recall that the Mijia Robot 2 was released a month ago, on July 26th, with a retail price of 1599 yuan (210 euros).

The second-generation Mijia robot vacuum cleaner includes three new functions and two substantial advancements over the original model. High-frequency sonic vibration mop, antimicrobial mop, and laser obstacle avoidance system are only a few of them.

The water tank has been improved from 180ml to 190ml, and the suction power has been enhanced from 2100Pa to 2800Pa.
