Huawei has, over the years, tried to establish itself as more than just a mobile manufacturing company. Moreover, the Chinese tech giant has also tried to establish itself as an active player in the car manufacturing industry and has come up with several products and solutions to realize that dream.
Furthermore, the company is also planning to make a full entry into the electric vehicles market. This comes mainly after the US banned the company’s products in their country, and now the company is trying to minimize the effects of the ban. Reportedly, the ban had resulted in the near-collapse of Huawei’s smartphone business.
On the way to realizing the dream, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. has published an invention patent that carries the name “Vehicle control device, method, computer-readable storage medium and formation driving system.” The patent is not recent or new.
As per the reports, it was filed back in April 2020. On the 11th, the publication number was CN112543958A. The patent abstracts details that the company has filed for a patent for a vehicle control device, vehicle control method, computer-readable storage medium, and formation system for controlling a fleet of multiple member vehicles.
Interestingly, Huawei last year also filed for patents that relate to EVs, especially the patent filed by the company with the title “An Electric Drive System, Powertrain, and Electric Vehicle”. The patent for these EVs was filed in October last year and bears the number CN112436747A and CN112436779A.
The patent description published with the model bearing the application number CN112436747A shows that this application provides an electric drive system, a powertrain, and an electric vehicle, which involves the electronic circuits’ technical field.
The patent’s electric drive system includes a bus, an on-board charger, a three-level inverter circuit, and a controller. It might take some time before Huawei can commercially launch the EVs and devices mentioned above.
