Although speculations about the foldable iPad (not yet given an official name) have been making their way around for a while, Twitter tipster yesterday shared some insight into what can be expected when it comes out.
The tweet highlights some features that might be a part of the foldable iPad. For a uniform experience, there will not be any pronounced joint or hinges. The “fold” itself will be seamless to facilitate higher quality.
An under-screen camera, micro-LED display, touch ID, and the ability to make phone calls will also be a part of the package. However, things like the option of Face ID, screen size, and other such details have not been mentioned or specified.
Apple foldable iPad will probably be run with the iPad OS and will be powered with a 3nm A 16X or A17 chipset. To achieve the best possible experience, using it with a VR headset or Apple Glass could be recommended.
This information spiller estimates that the foldable ipad will come out around 2023.
Earlier this year, Apple had applied for Patents relating to a foldable iPad and has also been conducting research into micro LED technology. Last year, Jeff Lin, an IHS Markit analyst predicted that Apple had begun work on this new foldable iPad and that its screen size would be the same as the current Macbooks’ with 13 or 15-inch screens. Considering the development of events, we may just see a foldable iPad in the near future!
