One of the biggest tech giants in the industry, Apple Inc, has also made some unforgettable mistakes. One of the most important ones was the Apple trashcan Mac Pro, released precisely nine years ago.
The revamped design of the Mac Pro took the whole thing in a new direction, spearheaded by a polished aluminum cylinder that was being unofficially addressed as the ‘trash can.’
All the components of the Mac Pro were placed around a central thermal dissipation core. The whole system is cooled with an individual fan that pulls air from under the case via the core and out of the top. Even during intense operations, the fan could spin slowly too.
Apple introduced the innovatively designed Mac Pro at the WWDC in the year 2013. At an announcement made at the event, Apple’s Phil Schiller said that
The comment by Philler was pointed toward armchair critics who said that Apple is out of ideas and it has abandoned the pro user base.
At that time, it was also said that Apple’s new Mac Pro delivered two times the overall performance delivered by the previous generation, and the former also took less than one-eighth of the total volume. The Mac Pro came with Intel Xeon processors along with dual AMD FirePro workstation GPUs, allowing it to offer seven teraflops of computing power.
We can’t deny that the design of the MacBook Pro was pretty ambitious, but the limitations with the same are not negligible. All the professional users who use powerful hardware were unable to connect with the Mac Pro due to the absence of ports. Moreover, six years have passed, but the Apple trashcan Mac Pro didn’t get any update.
Meanwhile, Apple admitted that the product had been a failure in a report in April 2017 in which the details of the failure were shared. We want to say that Apple’s innovation is something we still look out for. Speculations are that we will get to see something like that but in a seriously better position.
