AR glasses are Apple’s new wearable; it’s a pair of glasses that make use of augmented reality tech. Apple ARKIT has the potential to bring augmented reality to the forefront of the consumers. Reports suggest that AR Glasses are already under development, and Apple has been working on it for a good while before this CES meeting. There is no fixed date yet, but it is reported to hit the market in 2020.

The device is expected to be self-contained, operating without any paired iPhone. Apple AR Glasses are expected to feature their own display and processor as well as their own software platform – Reality Operating System (ROS), as it is not paired with any other Apple devices. Although the specifications are not known yet, it’s currently reported that Apple is experimenting with head gestures, Siri commands, and touch panels.
While we don’t know much about these AR Glasses, it seems that Tim Cook is ardently supporting the technology as he commented: “it will change the way we use technology forever”. The pricing is also not fixed, and it is estimated somewhere between $500/$AU670/£400 and $1,000/£800/AU$1,300, but any changes could be possible.
