Google Introduces ‘confidential Mode’ in Its New Gmail Design

The web clients of Gmail are set to receive one of its most substantial overhauls in the next few weeks, yet Google made no announcements publicly. New design and features will be added in this update, along with the ability to reply fast to emails, to snooze emails until later, and a new sidebar to place calendar appointments side by side with messages.

Now Google will also introduce Gmail Confidential Mode to let users stop recipients from forwarding certain emails or restrict the ability to copy, download, or print them. There will also be passcodes sent by Google to open emails. This passcode will be generated via SMS, with an expiration date on sent emails.

The features are almost similar to some of the features found in Microsoft’s full Outlook application, as Microsoft is also adding the ability to restrict emails on its Outlook.com service. These features will immensely help businesses that want more control over how emails are used by recipients. But users can take screenshots or photos of emails.

Google has confirmed that its Gmail update will come soon; hence it is supposed to be available within the coming weeks. As Google’s I/O developer conference starts on May 8th this year, this new Gmail design will be an important part of the event.

Since Google is working on some major updates now, there are plenty of new features to get excited about.
