According to a recent report, Google is thinking of a folding smartphone. However, the company has reiterated that the probable Pixel Fold will not be released in the near future.
Samsung can be credited as the company that whetted the folding telephone market and at the same time, the one that turned off the excitement. Its fiasco with the Galaxy Fold, which may not even be shipped, led both consumers and manufacturers to consider smartphones with this technology more carefully. However, the hitch of the South Korean house has not stopped those who want to play in designing prototypes and Google is also among these OEMs.
The Mountain View multinational company is known both for its many internal experiments and for not being particularly impulsive when it comes to following trends in mobile devices. Still, Android Q Beta 3, apparently, would feature the Screen Continuity feature that supports folding phones.
Mario Queiroz, chief of the Pixels, admitted that Google is experimenting with the form factor of foldable phones, but has also minimized its value. Google, according to Queiroz, has been testing foldable technology for some time, but this does not mean that they are about to launch a device on the market, unlike Samsung and Huawei. This would be due to the fact that the company has not yet clear the utility of folding smartphones.

The first series of folding phones will be purchased – according to Queiroz – by those who want larger screens, but have no intention of bringing with them another device. Google, before launching a phone with this technology, intends to develop more innovation, presenting users with a device they will not be able to do without.
