Intel Elkhart Lake has introduced 10nm Atom embedded CPU, which surfaced on the Futuremark database, courtesy of TUM_APISAK where the chip will be scoring 590 Graphic Score and 3801 physics score respectively. This CPU comes in three series of processors, namely-Pentium, Celeron, Atom x6000E.
The chip specifies the following:
- 4 CPU cores based on the “Tremont” low-power architecture,
- GPU based on the newer Gen 11 architecture
- single-channel memory controller with DDR4 and LPDDR4/x memory types.
The chip is a 4-core variant, having its CPU clocked at 1.90 GHz, which in turn is paired with LPDDR4x memory and the chip comes in 5 W, 9 W, and 12 W TDP variants. Intel has tried to bring its primary focus upon the IoT features with the help of programmable Services Engine, whose dedicated ARM processor, specifically an Arm Cortex M7 will support real-time functionality, network synchronization, time-sensitive networking, and low compute requirement workloads without the use of bigger cores.
The FUSA certified processors namely, Atom x6427FE and x6200FE will support Intel’s Safety Island technology and allow integrated functional safety within IP blocks to find as well as flag faults.
The new toolkit will also support Intel’s OpenVINO toolkit, with pre-optimized libraries for AI, ML, and computer vision acceleration. Some of the facilities geared by this CPU processor include enhanced branch prediction unit, increased capacity with improved path-based conditional and indirect prediction, 32KB data cache, larger load and store buffers, dual AES units.
