The majority of die-hard fans of the series are anxiously anticipating Modern Warfare 2 Season 2, but it looks like they will have to wait even longer. According to a recent leak, the MW2 season 2 release date will be later than expected.
Season 1 Reloaded of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released in December 2022, just a month after Season 1’s November release. Despite the fact that Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2 is expected to end on February 1 according to the in-game schedule, data mining shows that the season will actually release later in February.
Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 could be delayed
As reported by Dualshockers, data miner CODSploitz, who has previously properly predicted the release dates for bundles, states that the last Season 1 bundle will show up on February 2 and dates finish on February 15. The leaker takes this to suggest that Season 2 will start on February 15 or 16.
The major Modern Warfare 2 season 2 update, which is expected to offer a lot of performance improvements and new content, was originally scheduled to launch on February 1st, but it may now release on February 15, 2023, instead.
Fans obviously expected that the next Modern Warfare 2 season will release immediately following the conclusion of the battle pass based on how that season update operates. Recent leaks, however, do not support this expectation. Even though Activision hasn’t made any formal statements regarding this delay yet, the news will be disappointing for many MW2 fans.
Players should consider this a leak just because nothing official has been announced yet. Data miners in the community have already offered some hints about potential additional content for the MW2 season 2 update. The iconic “Castle” map from World at War may be returning, according to some Season 2 key art that was just leaked. In addition, Season 2 will feature brand-new Operators, guns, and battle pass.
