Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the newest game of the Pokemon franchise for the Nintendo Switch has broken several records since its release in November 2022. The game will have seasonal events and regular updates, which is just what players need – more content. After completing the main story mission and the endgame content, all players will have the events to look forward to. The next one is the limited-time Hydreigon and Dragapult Tera Raid Event in January.
How to Catch Hydreigon and Dragapult in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid Event January 2023
To celebrate the Year of the Rabbit, new Pokemon will be appearing in the black crystal Tera Raid Battles. You will be able to see the Raids popping up on your map from 6th January to 8th January. To encounter them, you will need to have the latest Poke Portal News installed on your Nintendo Switch. Make sure you have the latest version of the game downloaded as well.
The Pokemon that you will be able to catch in this event are Hydreigon in Pokémon Scarlet & Dragapult in Pokémon Violet. You can get the other version by being invited by a player who has a different version of the game than you do. These Pokemon can be caught in 4-star and 5-star Tera Raid battles.
If you are looking for these Pokemon and want a guaranteed catch of Steel Type Hydreigon or Dragon-Type Dragapult, you need to look for the Tera raids with a Terra type of Steel or Dragon. Prepare your best Pokemon team for the battle, as it won’t be an easy one.

To beat these Pokemon, you can use Azumarill, who is a Water and Fairy Type Pokemon, and Dachsbun, who is a Fairy Type Pokemon. At this point in the game, you should have them at a very high level, so that you can beat your opponents and get Hydreigon and Dragapult.
The previous Tera Raid Battle event featured Cinderace, which started on 30th December 2022, and concluded on 1st January. If you have missed it, the game will have a rerun from January 12, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. PST to January 15, 2023, at 3:59 p.m. PST. Mark your calendars, as Cinderace cannot be normally encountered in Paldea, so you will need to catch it through these events.
