Sleep is the most important factor in maintaining a good lifestyle. And Nokia has come up with its new gadget named Nokia Sleep at the CES 2018 conference to provide better sleep at night. Nokia Sleep is described to have an advanced sensor to deliver personalized sleep analysis. It is built in a mattress pad which has a smartphone control through IFTTT (if this then that) that will control the lights and the temperature as one falls asleep.

The mattress is synched to Health Mate App with Alexa, the cloud-based voice service from Amazon. The mattress records the sleep pattern where the data is analyzed by the app and contributes a sleep score. It is said to provide insights of one’s sleep. As per Nokia, sleep is the key factor in a healthy lifestyle, and sleep deficiency may lead to kidney or heart diseases, high blood pressure, and stroke. This triggered them to come up with the gadget ‘Nokia Sleep’. The ‘Nokia Sleep’ pad is also enabled with Wi-Fi connectivity. The mattress-pad slides under the mattress to track the insights of sleeping experiences and also provides personal advice to improve sleeping patterns.

The gadget guides the users during an eight-week period to understand the pattern of sleep and also helps to have more balanced and regular sleep every day. The users can also benefit from the increase of 12 minutes of sleep a night. It is important to have such tools that may aid the users’ sleeping patterns. It will start shipping probably in the first quarter of this year, which will price at $99.95.

“ Our vision is to help make the world a healthier place and quality of sleep is as critical a component of a healthy lifestyle as regular exercise and a balanced diet”. – Rob Le Bras-Brown, Head of Nokia’s Digital Health Business
