Several OnePlus users have expressed dissatisfaction over experiencing varied camera issues, the phone’s location stopped after updating to OxygenOS 12 update on their smartphones.
Last week the Chinese smartphone giant rolled out the OxygenOS 12 update on the Oneplus smartphones.
According to the mobile giant, the new OxygenOS 12 update featured a smart battery engine that prolongs users’ battery life based on smart algorithms and biomimetic self-restoration technology, improved desktop icons textures, and introduced a dark mode for a personalized and comfortable user experience.
In addition, the update also comes with features like the WorkLife Balance feature that allows users to effortlessly switch between Work and Life mode via a quick setting. The new update adds new diverse styles of lines and colors, for a more personalized lock screen experience with inspiring visuals, among others features.
However, despite the new introducing features most users who have updated to the OxygenOS 12 faced one or more camera problems, the location’s stopped Whatsapp widget disappears randomly, blurred images in WhatsApp status, application crashes, etc.
A OnePlus user, who experienced a camera drop bemoan his dissatisfaction via the OnePlus Forums after updating to the OxygenOS 12, said:
“After the update, the camera software’s color adjustment, sharpness, etc. decreased and there is a lot of noise in the pictures.
“Software that can make better color decisions and clear pictures even though I have a color sensor on my phone, the color resolutions are very poor.”
Another OnePlus 9 user lamented that his smartphone camera auto stops while taking phones and videos after updating to the latest version of OS12.
In his words: “While taking photos and mainly taking videos camera auto stops some kind of blur.”
Expressing his whimper, a OnePlus user who experiences back and front camera stop after updating to the OxygenOS 12 vow not to buy the OnePlus smartphone in the future, said:
I have a problem with my front pop-up camera not working. And after security updates my back camera has also stopped working. I’ve cleared the cache and tried different things with no results. The camera rises up but it’s just black on the screen and it doesn’t let me even take a picture while black.
“Over the top, my widevine L3 issue still persists even after the patch update. Not going to buy OnePlus in future ever again.” User lamented via the OnePlus forum.
Additionally, another OnePlus user, who is using Google Home’s presence sensing explained that his phone’s location is no longer working after updating to OS12:
“Since the update to Android 12 Google Home’s presence sensing using my phone’s location is no longer working. It has all the appropriate location permissions. It’s been allowed to run in the background and autolaunch. But it doesn’t seem to be able to trigger my home or away routines. It never logs in the activity list that it noticed I was away or home.”
“It doesn’t seem to be listed in the battery optimization list so I can’t ensure it is turned off.” He added.
Aside from the above, some users also noted that they encountered several difficulties like the Whatsapp widget disappearing randomly, blurred images in WhatsApp status, application crashes, and issues while gaming.
Therefore, the mobile brand is hereby called upon to look into the software development as users are facing varied drawbacks on their smartphones for users friendly.
