The German automobile manufacturer Porsche has broadened its Taycan line-up with the overture of the new Sport Turismo, which combines the estate-style body of the Cross Turismo with the lower ride height of the saloon.

The dynamically oriented GTS – defined as the Taycan’s new “sporty sweet spot,”- will be on sale at the end of February, followed by the other variants in mid-March.

The estate body type of the Porsche Taycan is now available across the range. The entry-level Taycan Sport Turismo costs £73,650, with the 616bhp Turbo S model costing £140,080. The Sport Turismo has a larger cabin than the Taycan saloon, with rear-seat occupants getting an extra 45mm of headroom thanks to the longer roofline.

The driver’s seat may be elevated by an additional 9mm, while the reworked rear end provides increased boot access. The boot opening’s height has increased from 434mm to 801mm, while its breadth has increased from 330mm to 543mm.

The Taycan’s boot capacity varies according to the model. Although the Sport Turismo’s maximum of 446 liters is 39 liters greater than the saloon. The 60:40 split back seats can be folded to provide a maximum capacity of 1,212 liters, and the Sport Turismo like the basic Taycan includes an 84-liter baggage box in the front.

A panoramic sunroof with Variable Light Control is offered as an option on the Taycan Sport Turismo, allowing the driver to choose between transparent and opaque glass. The glass roof is divided into nine portions, each of which may be operated independently by the driver by sliding their finger across the infotainment screen.

The Taycan’s powertrain options remain intact in Sport Turismo guise, ranging from a 322bhp rear-wheel-drive model to the dual-motor Turbo S Sport Turismo accelerates to 62mph in 2.8 seconds. On the WLTP cycle, the Taycan 4S Sport Turismo has the longest range of all at 309 miles.

For 2022, the Taycan Sport Turismo gets the same improvements as the rest of the lineup including Android Auto connection, enhanced voice control, and an optional Remote Park Assist system that allows the Taycan to park without a driver. The four-wheel-drive 4S Sport Turismo costs £84,830 and starts at £73,650.

The GTS version costs £20,160 more than the 4S while the Turbo Sport Turismo costs £117,670. The Turbo S model with 616bhp and a price tag of £140,080 is at the top of the list.
