Samsung has officially confirmed on Twitter that the latest Samsung Exynos SoC will be unveiled on January 4, shortly before CES 2018. Samsung has described “The Next Exynos” as something that “goes beyond a component”.

It is not really much of a surprise. In November, Samsung had already made an announcement about outing their next major SoC as the Exynos 9810. It is one of many Samsung products that are due to be recognized with Innovation awards at the 2018 CES show. That explains the release date to some extent.

Not many specifications of the processor are announced by Samsung. All that is known, by far, is that the Samsung Exynos SoC will be built on a 10-nanometer (nm) FinFET process. The same technology was implemented in Exynos 8895 as well. Samsung has already announced the 9810 to be their flagship processor. The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are expected to be powered by it. The US versions of the Galaxy S9 line of phones though are expected to be powered by the latest Snapdragon SoC from Qualcomm.

It’s also been confirmed that 9810 will come with an upgraded GPU. It will support gigabit LTE along with 6CA as well. The company is rumored to have already started the mass production of the SoCs built on its second generation 10nm process. There is a possibility that this includes the Exynos 9810 as well.
