Galaxy A series and Galaxy M30 have finally marked their debut in India today. Samsung unveiled Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50 at MWC 2019, and there are rumors that the company would also launch a cheaper model called the Galaxy A10 along with Galaxy M30, the third smartphone in the Galaxy M series.
Galaxy A series
On Thursday, Samsung announced three new smartphones in its new Galaxy “A” series. The revamped series will feature a slew of new phones with a refreshed design but at a more flexible price range. Samsung Galaxy A50 comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ (1080×2340) Super AMOLED display. Powered by an octa-core processor with 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/ 128GB storage, the phone supports up to 512GB of expandable storage via a microSD card.
Samsung Galaxy A50 sports three rear cameras, including a 25-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 5-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture, and 8-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture. It also has Samsung’s Bixby AI vision. It offers a 25-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
It comes in 32GB/64GB storage variants. It also supports up to 512GB of expandable storage. Samsung Galaxy A30 has 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel dual rear cameras. The novelty has a 16-megapixel selfie snapper on the front side with f/2.0 aperture. Other essential features of the phone include a fingerprint sensor, a 4,000mAh battery, and fast charging support.
Galaxy A10 comes with a 6.2-inch HD+ Infinity V display. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with F1.9 aperture and a 5-megapixel front camera with face recognition. It is powered by a 3,400mAh capacity and will be available in red, blue, and black colors.
Talking about price, Galaxy A50 has debuted in India for a starting price of Rs 19,990 for the 4 GB RAM/64 GB storage model and Rs 22,990 for the 6 GB RAM/64 GB storage model. The Galaxy A30 with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage will cost Rs 16,990. The Samsung Galaxy A10 with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB storage comes for Rs 8,490.
Galaxy M30
On the other hand, Galaxy M30 is focused on providing superior performance at a budget price. The smartphone sits above the M10 and M20 in terms of pricing and specifications. It features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with a water-drop style notch. Samsung has ditched the 18:9 aspect ratios on the M30 for a display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.
The smartphone is powered by a massive 5,000 mAh battery which supports fast charging facilitated by a 15W charger. For security, the phone has a fingerprint scanner on the back and supports face unlock feature. The phone comes with USB Type-C for connectivity and charging that comes in two colors — Gradation Black and Gradation Blue.
Samsung has launched Galaxy M30 in two variants – 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. While the 4GB variant has been priced at Rs 14,990 in India, the 6GB comes for Rs 17,990. As part of the online-exclusive Galaxy M series, the M30 can be purchased on Samsung’s online official website along with Amazon.in starting March 7, 12 pm.
