A new member has just arrived at Samsung’s Galaxy M family of devices. Samsung Mobile India division has just presented the Samsung Galaxy M40, a new smartphone in the series of its mid-range phones. The new smartphone aims to continue gaining ground in a market overshadowed by companies such as Xiaomi or Huawei, combining a modern design with competitive specifications and contained price.
The Galaxy M40 follows the aesthetic line of the other models in this series and stands a step above the Galaxy M30 presented several months ago. It adds interesting innovations inherited from the most leading models of the brand, such as the punch hole selfie camera setup in the screen thanks to the Infinity-O technology.
Samsung Galaxy M40 comes with a Super AMOLED screen of 6.3 inches and FullHD+ resolution (2,340 x 1,080 pixels). The phone achieves a screen-to-body ratio of 91.8% according to the manufacturer’s data, a figure that is possible thanks to the fact that it stretches the frames quite well, approaching the “all-screen” objective.
The mobile comes in two shades of blue, with the colors “Midnight Blue” and “Seawater Blue” as names. If we turn it around, we find the camera module with three sensors located in a vertical position under which the LED flash is located. For its part, the fingerprint sensor is also located on the back, centered with the axis of the phone.
In the photographic section, Samsung joins the fashion of the triple rear camera in the Galaxy M40 three sensors of 32 MP with f /1.7 aperture, 5 MP depth sensor with f / 2.2 aperture and a third wide-angle sensor of 8 MP with f /2.2 aperture and 123º of field. The camera comes with artificial intelligence to optimize the scene and modes such as Slow-Mo Video or Hyperlapse for video recording. The 16 MP front camera with f / 2.0 aperture is there for selfies.
Samsung Galaxy M40 opts for a Snapdragon 675 eight-core processor and Adreno 612 GPU, becoming the first of the M family to bet on Snapdragon. In fact, we saw the Exynos 7870 on the Galaxy M10, the Exynos 7904 on the Galaxy M20 and the Exynos 7905 on the Galaxy M30. It comes accompanied by 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage expandable up to 512 GB with microSD card.
As for the battery, it is placed at 3,500 mAh with the fast charging support of 15W and has Android 9 Pie with OneUI 1.1, becoming the first mobile of the M family to have this version of the operating system at startup. The USB-C port is added to it. As for sound, the phone has sound technology screen, capable of transforming the screen of the phone into a speaker.
The Samsung Galaxy M40 will be available on the Amazon website in India on June 18 in a single version of 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. It will be sold in the colors of Midnight Blue and Seawater Blue at a price of 19,900 rupees.
