With the iPhone or iPad, users can capture the special type of images called Live Photos. This mode records what happens 1.5 seconds before and after taking it, so that the movement and sound of the environment are captured. After capturing the photo, Apple features several effects to apply, such as “Loop,” “Bounce,” or “Long exposure”.

The social network Twitter is applying a series of changes in the platform for the enjoyment of users. One of them is now the ability to upload live photos directly as a GIF on Twitter for iOS app.

It has been the official Twitter account on the social network that has given the news. From now on, everyone interested can publish a Live Photo, which will be shown to other Twitter iOS users as a GIF.

The statement is accompanied by a video that begins by saying that “every day, millions of Live Photos were left without sharing, living isolated, forgotten in the albums. Today is a new day. Live Photos have a new home on Twitter.”

In addition, another interesting change is that Twitter has now modified the way it processes the image to upload. The quality of the JPEG files from now on will not get compressed. Hence it will no longer lose its original quality when uploaded them through Twitter for the web.
