Microsoft has decided to unveil its Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3 in India. Both of them will be available in the country starting November 17 onwards.
Although both devices were introduced in May 2020, they were only made available in India up until recently. The Microsoft Surface Go 2 tablet comes with an 8th-Gen Intel Core M processor, and its price starts at only INR 42, 999.
On the other hand, Microsoft Surface Book 3 has Intel’s 10th-Gen Ice Lake Core processors and comes with a price tag starting at INR 1,56,299.
Microsoft Surface Go 2
The new Microsoft Surface Go 2 tablet sports a 10.5-inch display with a 1920 × 1280 pixel resolution. It comes with an 8th Gen Intel Core M processor and 2W stereo speakers with Dolby Audio Premium and support for dual far-field studio mics for better voice clarity.
The device also has two available variants: 4GB RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage or the 8GB RAM variant with a 128GB SSD. There is also a microSD card slot for storage expansion of up to 1TB.
As for other specifications, the Microsoft Surface Go 2 has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and an 8-megapixel rear-facing autofocus camera with 1080p HD recording support. Microsoft claims that this device can offer better battery life and up to 64 percent faster performance than its predecessors.
Other features include one Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, eSIM support, single Nano-SIM tray, GPS, A-GPS, USB Type-C port, Microsoft’s proprietary Surface Connector for charging and accessories, a headphones socket, and a microSD card slot.
Surface Book 3
Microsoft Surface Book 3 is available in two display variants- the 13-inch display with 3000 x 2000 pixels resolution and the 15-inch display with 3240 x 2160 pixels resolution. It is powered by the quad-core 10th-Gen Intel Core i5-1035G7 and i7-1065G7 processors, respectively, runs on Windows 10 Pro, and offers preloaded Microsoft 365 apps.
The device also comes with up to 32 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB SSD options. The 13 inches Surface Book 3 sports NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics, whereas the 15 inches Surface Book 3 integrates NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 graphics.
As for other features, Microsoft Surface Book 3 comes with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, two USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A ports, one USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C port, two Surface Connect ports, an SDXC card slot, 5-megapixel front, and 8-megapixel rear cameras, far-field stereo microphones and a fully backlit keyboard. The 13-inch model can offer up to 15.5 hours of battery life while the 15-inch model can offer up to 17.5 hours of battery life.
Price and availability
Both Microsoft Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3 are available in India now. The Surface Go 2 with Intel Pentium Gold 4425Y processor costs INR 42,999 for both of its 4 GB / 64 GB and 8 GB / 128 GB variants. The Intel Core m3 4 GB / 64 GB variant of Surface Go 2 will cost INR 42,999 while the Intel Core m3 8 GB / 128 GB variant will have a price of INR 63,499.
As for Surface Book 3, the 13- inch 8GB/128GB variant has a price of INR 1,56,299; 16GB/256GB variant costs INR 1,95,899; the 32GB/512GB variant will cost INR 2,37,199 and lastly the 32GB/1TB variant will go for INR 2,59,299.
The 15 inch Surface Book 3 is also available in five variants, where the 16 GB / 256 GB variant costs INR 2,20,399; 32 GB / 512 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti variant INR 2,66,499; 32 GB / 1 TB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti variant INR 2,86,199; 32 GB / 512 GB NVIDIA Quadro RTX variant INR 3,21,899 and the 32 GB / 1 TB NVIDIA Quadro RTX variant INR 3,40,399.
The new Surface Go 2 will be available through authorized retailers and online partners including Flipkart, Amazon India, and Paytm Mall. However, the Surface Book 3 will only be available at commercial authorized resellers.
