Xiaomi has taken to the Mall app to announce that it will host a product launch event in its home market China on November 6 and it is currently being speculated that the company will be launching the device as Redmi Note 6 at the event.
As many of you may be aware, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro as the Redmi Note 5 in China. Its successor is expected to be marketed as the Redmi Note 6 in India. Xiaomi has shared a poster on Weibo showing the launch date as November 6 and the time as 2:00 PM.
Back in September, Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone in Thailand. This device is yet to be launched in the global markets.
The “wonderful upgrade” tagline in the poster makes it quite clear that Xiaomi will be announcing a successor to an existing smartphone and not an all-new device. An alleged promotional image of the Redmi Note 6 was also leaked online recently, highlighting the 20MP + 2MP AI dual selfie cameras on the front. While Xiaomi has not confirmed anything officially just yet, we do expect the company to reveal more details on the upcoming device very soon.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is only a minor upgrade when compared to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. It runs on the exact same Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz with an Adreno 509 GPU and is almost identical in terms of design as well. The most significant difference between the two smartphones is the display size. While the Redmi Note 5 Pro features a 5.99-inch 1080 x 2160 pixels Full HD+ resolution display, the Redmi Note 6 Pro sports a larger 6.26-inch notched display with 1080 x 2280 pixels.
The handset is expected to be available in black, blue, red, and Rose Gold colors. Buyers are likely to be given an option to choose from multiple variants including 32GB storage+3GB RAM, 64GB storage+4GB RAM, and 64GB storage+6GB RAM.
